Rosencrans faced the Confederate Army of Tennessee, commanded by General Braxton Bragg. Both generals decided to fall on the enemy's left flank, and the confused battle that followed was one of the most desperate and savage of the Civil War. To recreate this fierce encounter, Murfreesboro provides an innovate brigade level simulation that reflects the difficulties involved in moving and fighting on battlefields of the period.
